Brekky at Outpost, and off again...

Hi lovelies out there ;)

Recently me and hubby picked up a new found interest, we've been in Melb since forever but only realized that this city is the heaven for brekky-brunch lovers.... There are tons of small independent cafe serving unique home made dishes scattered around Melbourne and its surrounding. we're so slow I know -.-"" I've had brekky or brunch many times before with friends but never really pay attention to what the place serves, the coffee and all, I went mainly for the meet up, so as long as the foods don't kill me I won't complain.

Anyway, couple of days back, after his overnight shift, hubby needs to go to the city to take care of some stuff but the place he wanted to go were not open before 9am, and since he finished work at 7am I suggested to him that we go on a brekky date, lolz...

So, of we went to Outpost at South Yarra one of the nice cozy independent cafe that are tucked neatly in the 1st floor of an apartment/office, very near to the South Yarra Station.

The place looks warm and quite inviting

Inside, the kitchen, coffee making area, cashier and cake/breakfast display area are all open to each other. It's kind of messy but nice at the same time :) feels homey...

We had latte each, their coffee was really good, both me n hubby are not coffee drinker but we love the smell and the taste of their coffee, and also they were warm enough without burning the tongue. The coffee were actually still warm enough for drink even after we finished the breakfast :) (maybe we ate too fast?)

This is what I had. French toast with bacon, syrup and almond. The portion was hearty!! If I come again to this place I would share it with someone, luckily that particular day both of us were famished :D The french toast are just right in the sogginess department, and the syrup on the bacons were not too sweet too.

This was what hubby had. He loved it, me too (lolz I had my claim on some of the asparagus, salmons and greens), the asparagus were soft and crunchy, the greens and creams were fresh and went very well with the salmon and the toast

I can safely say that I'll be back to this place. Food and coffee-wise this place is great, service was also polite. My only rant is, if you come in groups or when it's busy, then you would have to sit at another room (forgot to take pic of it) that is separated from the kitchen, coffee area etc, and the separated room lack the charms and warmth of the area pictured on my photos above. They need to put some drawings and yellow bulbs, me thinks.

Anyway, Outpost is a fine place.

On the other note, I'm off tomorrow for a 2 weeks holiday, and then to Jakarta for my in-law's wedding. Will update when I arrive in Jakarta!!

My little hero :) ROHTO Eyedrops!

I haven't been a good blogger I realize *sigh* anyway...

Here's my current fave product.. the little hero who saves when busy and tiring days take tolls on my eyes :D :D

ROHTO eyedrops!!

It's a japanese brand and I believe alot of people have heard about it. I used contacts alot in the past and as a result of prolonged usage my eyes have been having constant irritation with some scary red bloodshot (on the white area of eyes). I took some months off contacts lens (can't believe I survive those months), and then I stumbled on this little gem in a bottle.
FYI, this is NOT TO BE USED when you are WEARING contacts. I usually use this morning and night, as needed.
Be warned though, first time using it could be quite a shocker. Unlike the previous eyedrops that I have used in the past, this one stings at some first seconds.

Me: *drop to the left eyes*
Me: ARGGHHHHHHHH it stings!! STINGS!!
Hubby: *staring in shock*
Me: *drop to the right eyes*
Me: ARGHHHH it does STING!!!
Hubby: what is that?? a toilet cleaner??

But after a while the stinging sensation subsided and when I looked into the mirror my eyes were abit red, I was disappointed and was having the "maybe this doesn't work on me" forlorn moment. After 10 minutes I went back to the mirror to clean my face and was pleasantly surprised to see my eyes, the bloodshot were all gone and my eyes looked clear and healthy!!

Enough said, it's a keeper :) now hubby is a user too, even after calling it "toilet cleaner" -.-"
I read ROHTO has a lycee eyedrops too, I'm abit curious but I am yet to put a lycee into my eyes, so until I can brave the lycee I'm quite happy with this one!!

My Lumix in Action!!

On my last post, I did say that I will do Zumba review on my next post but decided to postpone it because I wanted to show some pics that I have been snapping with my new Lumix LX3 :D :D
Love love love the color of the results, although I'm yet to master all the features of the camera, I can even take my jewelry's picture with this camera because it captured the details beautifully.

Well, mostly I'm taking pictures of my own cookings LOLz...since I'm not an expert cook, every time I did a successful attempt on a recipe I had to take a picture of the result, just in case my friends don't believe me when I tell them I actually can cook hahaha..

Meuntang (Spicy Fish) :p

Dumplings :)) My fave food to make. Reason: easy to make and to store. I usually make in batch and dump them on the freezer. Great for times when I need a quick meal ;)

Here's what I love to made with my newly acquired food processor. Almond energy balls Lolz don't you love the name? Super easy to make, just a cup of raw almond

6-8 soaked pitted prunes

Throw them all into the food processor and run it for about 3 minutes

Walaaa.... here's the end result :D Healthy nibbles!! I just pop two or three of them to my mouth everytime I want some snacks :D Next I wanna make macadamia energy balls!!

Sanma Takikomi Gohan (Japanese style fish rice??Someone help me translating the name pls)

I modify the recipe abit because I don't have all the required ingredients ^^"

One week or so ago I celebrate my 27th birthday, and here's what my husband and friends got me (at my rather obvious hint-full request lolz)

PANASONIC LUMIX LX3

I have had my eyes on it ever since my brother came home with the twin counterpart Leica d-lux4, and since Lumix LX3 is half the Leica price, I want it even more!

Another present that I got is the Breville Multi food processor that I've been wanting too for quite some time.

I think I'm ready to be a mum. WHY? Because I get excited over a food processor!! @.@" lolz
cooking is never big in my life, my HS friends would laugh their heads off if they hear me saying "I like cooking" ^^"

So I have been playing with these two things and also accompanying my mum in law who is visiting us, while still trying to juggle things from works.

This might not be a too exciting post, but I am certainly excited over my two new possessions!!
What have you been wanting for a while that you plan to get (or get someone to give you haha) on your birthday?

Next, I think I'm ready to review my Zumba Latin Workout pack :D

KARMIN review!!

A while ago I won Nikki's sponsored giveaway and the prize is this beautiful KARMIN hair styler pictured on the right...

I have used it several times and it's times to do review on it. I have mentioned how I love the sleek design and the white color... now that I have actually put the tool into action I have some thoughts that I'd love to share with you guys..

I can say overall I love this KARMIN hair styler because it lives up to its promise of super fast heating time..

The Pros are:

Heats up real fast, I only use the 180 and 240 heat level, and it heats up in about (if not less than) 10 seconds.
The heat last very long before it starts re-heat-ing again.
Very lightweight. It's not a problem to carry this on my everyday bag

The Cons are:

I wish the ion plate is larger. I know I said I love the sleekness of the tool, but when it comes to using it to straighten hair (I have lots of hair) and make bigger curl, I found it a little bit hard.

But overall I love this product because it saves me lots of time, here's the look of my hair about a week ago, I needed to finish doing my hair & touched up my makeup in about 30-40minutes before we needed to leave the house for a wedding reception. I'm not good with hair as I have said many times before so excuse the messiness :p

Sorry for the bad angle, I took this pic quickly because hubby was already waiting on the door hahaha.. Basically I curled my hair with KARMIN and then arrange it with bobby pins. I really didnt have much time so I kinda did my hair without even looking at it until I finished everything -.-"

One steamy hot night...

During one of those summer hot night... I lost my head over the heat...
and I baked cookies....

hahaha...I know I should have stayed away from the oven but I just thought "whatever...it's hot anyway...and I want some cookies"

So I stayed full awake until 2am and made my healthy dose of cookies ^^

This cookies recipe is my guilt-free indulgence because it contains no flour and no sugar at all. I used ripe bananas for the sweetening agent and also dark chocolate. As for the flour, I substituted it with rolled oats and almond meal.

I usually eat most of the cookies myself ...hubby likes it too but he's not big on cookies and cakes so most of them are MINE.. hahaha...not so healthy after all... -.-"

and here's some random purchase from SASA.. I have been giving alot attention to my hair lately because since I went to Thailand last year I have lost alot of hair and noticed slow re-growth plus major dryness...

DHC vitamins, Essential shampoo, conditioner and hair mask, and kose softymo cleansing oil. All from Japan. I haven't used the essential series because I'm still going on my Kracie shampoo at the moment...

I use hair mask everytime I wash my hair now...and it helps alot with the dryness, eventhough my hair still look dry but it has improved alot. I have used tsubaki hair treatment mask (the red one) before and it works very well...but it's pretty pricey.. so after I saw Kathy from LotusPalace review on this Cosmetex Roland hair mask I got really excited because it's big (300ml) and cheap (USD 7.7 if I remember correctly). After I used it for the first time I fell in love with it...I think it works as well as the tsubaki... I will definetely re-purchase!

Melbourne is not as hot anymore...we've been getting funny variation of hot days, hailings, storms, moderate cloud, and fine days...

Ron Mueck Exhibit

Hellow everyone...I've been semi MIA lately...aside from work I just feel that I need a little time off blog, for some reasons :) I hope everyone is doing well.

A while ago I went with a friend to an exhibition of Australian prominent sculptor, Ron Mueck, at the Victorian Art Center. His works were very impressive, so meticulous and detailed, but I do not wish to remain in the same room with his works at night time hahaha.....

I'd love to share some pictures with you :)

Zumba-ing & Lovepack from Sarah!!

Some of you who read my blog posts might know that I'm into anything that is health-related, be it health food, fitness, organic foods, yoga, pilates..bla bla... well, I found an interesting exercise a couple of weeks ago...it's called ZUMBA dance workout...

What I love about this exercise is that it involves dancing, and since I love dancing, this suits me very well. The dance steps are Latin, Reggae, and a bit of hip hop. I have only been using it for 1 week, and have only done the basic and express work out, so far I'm loving it!! :D XD can't wait for my next dance. I guess the best part is it tricks me into working out lolz. You know how it feels when you're trying to drag yourself out to the gym, all the times it takes to prepare the bags, the walks/drive to the place, and so on... with Zumba, I can do it alone at home, or together with friends (planning to) lolz

Anyway, if you enjoy dancing, I would recommend you this workout series, as it's fun and it teaches you the basic steps so you don't have to quality for "dancing with the stars" to do ZUMBA. I will do a review after 1-2 months doing this exercises.

And a couple of days ago, I receive a lovepack from Sarah, one of my fave bloggers (she's having a very fun contest, so check her blog out and join!)!! She can read my mind so the box is full of pink stuff!!! Thanks so much Sarah!! I love everything!!! well, the hubby loves the chocolate since it's the first thing that he took when the package arrives (hence the absence from the pic)

Aren't they all pretty!!??!! I got another mascara (just when I'm in the need of a backup), a super duper nice (look-wise and usage-wise) pen, cute bows, a nail polish, a lipgloss, a bubble bath, and a tube of hand balm. Thanks so much again Sarah! :D love yaaaa.. X3

Fighting the heat

It's summer down here and I'm being stricken with the merciless heat for a few days now.... 34 celcius... and the heat is hurting my skin, I'm serious..... there is real problem with the ozone layer here in Australia, I never experienced a more hurting heat elsewhere T.T

For your info I prefer cold to hot places, maybe this preference stems from living most of my life in tropical country, human can only sweat so much you know......

It's too hot now, even inside my house, my portable aircon isn't very supportive either, which left me with only my creativity to defend my hot self.

So, what to do during intense summer heat when you cant turn to aircon for help?

1. Turn all the lamps off, while saving the earth you also save yourself from some heat, killing two birds with one stone, that's what I'm talking about lolz

2. Minimize movement. Still, don't forget to breathe..

3. Eatting/drinking cold things, like ice cream, ice coffee, and for good alternatives chilled fruits, fruit juice or yogurt

4. Open the freezer section of the fridge and dip your head into it for a couple of minutes hahaha I really do it...seriously... :p

5. Think about cold places, hahaha ok...better stop, I started to sound desperate..........

Any other tips??

Once upon seeing a gecko...

It's a fact that I'm a gecko-phobia... Don't tell me it's a harmless, nice, and friendly animal because I had to visit a hospital once because of it, hence it's a very harmful creature. -.-'

So..how did it all happen?

It happened couple of years ago when I visited my grandma & cousins in my hometown in Central Java, a small lovely city called Solo. One fine-but-soon-not-so-fine-anymore day of the holiday, I was in a bathroom washing my hands on the sink, when one of my younger cousins suddenly told me there was a gecko in the corner of the room. I spurned my head immediately to locate the monstrous beast and judging the distance between us. After seeing that the distance was pretty safe I went back on my washing-hand activity.

Then my cousin tried to tease me and yelled, "Watch out! the gecko is running towards you!!"

Me being paranoid, quickly forgotten that there was a safe 3 meters distance between me and the beast, I turned my body quickly and run outside the bathroom. When I realized my cousin was just playing, I went back to the sink because I haven't finished washing my hand. Then I bent to the sink ..... AND my back SNAPPED (ok, no sound, but I FELT it) and I experienced the most excruciating pain that made me slump on the floor, my feet were like jellies and couldn't support my upper body. I couldn't say a single thing but my face must had been as white as a sheet of paper because my cousins screamed in horror.

Cut the drama short, the pain intensified every passing minutes, I had to lay tummy down on the bed and couldn't move for hours. Don't ask how I did my toilet business, I'm sure it's best to keep it to myself and a few people who helped me T.T"

My grandma was so scared she insisted me to go to a hospital and get an x-ray for my back. So my cousins called an ambulance and off we go to the hospital. OH MY OH MY, I have never been in an ambulance all my life and the ambulance in that city is nowhere near decent. What a bumpy and painful ride *cringe*

And of course, being a small city where everybody knows everybody (and everybody talks about everybody), when we were in the hospital my cousins met two different friends who asked immediately what happen, and just imagine the laugh when they learnt the reason behind the urgent visit to ICU X( XP I felt like running out of the room (HA, like I can)...

Well, I left home after the x-ray result was out (nothing's broken), but the rest of the holiday wasn't that pleasant because I'm bed-ridden for the next 4 days. When I went to chuch later on (after my back healed) few more strangers (cousins' friends of course) greeted me with, "So this is the cousin who got into a hospital because of a gecko?"

That's probably and hopefully the only holiday that went awry XD It was a good story to tell now hahaha...we still have a good laugh every time we talk about it ^^"

Arghh but I can't get over my phobia, no matter how hard I tried. My worst nightmare was the one with giant gecko wearing pajamas and trying to say hello to me. GAH! *shudders*

Any tips??? :p or do you have similar story?? do tell!!

Head over Heels

Who loves wearing high heels/killer heels/sexy heels??I think most women would jump with hands high in the air upon hearing that question, while some would shrink back (like me for example...hahaha)

A social interview once revealed that many of the interviewed women said they will keep wearing high heels despite the fact that it's painful and uncomfortable for them.

I don't mean to invoke any undue wrath for you high heels supporters, I do wear the pointy stuff that elevate us from the ground, in fact the pics that I got here are some of my own collection XD. But we all also know the health-disadvantage of wearing high heels daily for a long period of time.

I'm not a big fan of high heels to begin with, it took me a long time to be able to balance myself on a pair of high heels (except for stiletto, that's pretty much a lost case).

I do admit that we women need high heels on some important occasion like:

1. To compliment a long party gown (unless you are blessed with long legs and tall body that permits you to wear flats to party, arghh so lucky!)

2. When height is needed. eg. when wearing the maxi dress, because you don't want to literally be head over heels stumbling on your dress

2. Going on an important date on a beautiful restaurant that requires you to dress up, or else you will bring shame to your partner :p

Here's what I usually do when wearing high heels:

1. I try not to wear high heels when walking on the street because the concrete makes it hurts double I'd rather walk bare-feet

2. If I need to wear high heels on the destination, I bring flip flops to wear while walking on the street and then change when I got there

3. Try not to wear high heels the whole day

4. Trying to go for medium heels, platform, and choosing the most comfortable ones (if possible)

The good side of these practices is my high heels tend to last for a very looooonger time (I just broke my 6 years old rotelli high heels).... the bad side is of course I can't but those pretty new release high heels while I still have mine perfectly untouched (or can I??)

What about you?? Do you wear high heels alot? or are you a fan of flats? For my guy readers, do you think high heels compliment the looks or makes someone look sexier?

I never thought that my blog is that awesome, it's very nice of you. and also she tags me on 10 honest facts list. So Im going to do it now :D sorry it took so long, I was away on holiday at that time :)

1. I'm easy to get annoyed, and unfortunately I'm a bad actor so I can't really hide it.
2. I love everything about chocolate.
3. I sleep like a log, a pig, a slab of concrete, you name it...as long as it represents something that stays put on bed and not moving for at least a good 8-10 hours then that's me :D
4. I'm afraid of gecko, or any lizard family... I got into a hospital once because of that beast...I'll tell more about it another time :p
5. If I have to choose style or comfort, I go for comfort ^^
6. I'm a sucker of anything health-promoting; anything that is beneficial for health, be it food, sports, or other things XD
7. I'm not a good cook, for a shame...my mom and in laws are such good cooks I feel I'm fading away in comparison with them. Well, it wasnt a big deal before I got married, but now I realize the importance of pleasing the loved ones through foods hahaha
8. When going clothes-shopping, I'm so lazy to try on the clothes, pants, or whatever XD I like shopping but I hate the trying-it-on part
9. Once my hubby criticized me about my foods and I went on a strike for two days. Ladies, please don't follow my lead hahaha...but then again, I'm sure most of your cooking levels are above mine ^^"
10. I like travelling!! but if I can choose, then I want to go to cold places... :p

I honestly read almost all of my followers' blog update (if they update of course), I do have some problem getting my followers' blog up on my left sidebar (the blog updates area), so sometimes I need to go through the list from the dashboard to check on the updates.

on random note: I ate a huge bowl of black cherries yesterday, maybe closer to a kilo?? @.@ not sure...but when I saw myself in a mirror I got this nice dark purple shade on my lips lolz...and it stays on pretty long too!! nature's color is the best!! But then it takes almost 1kg of cherries to give me that shade, and 1kg of black cherries is like $14. uhm...I'll stick to lipstick and its kin then ^^"

Back from holiday!!!

Im back from my long long holiday, it's true that the longer the holiday the harder it is to get yourself back in the normal working mode XD lolz
How is everyone doing? I miss blogging and of course I miss reading all of your blogs!!

Anyway, when I got back to the house I was greeted by two lovely parcels.

Holiday = eat more = weight more??

Thanks everyone for the input about the dress. I ended up wearing the pink dress and the butterfly ones, the greenish blue one will be kept for the next wedding^^ and the wedding went very very well, thanks for asking!!

I'm on holiday now as you all might have known, and I think most of us will be having christmas holiday soon, away or not from home. Holiday is always identical with eating more and I often heard people remark "It's holiday, it's okay eat some more" lolz...I think it is justified to gain a few kgs while you're on holiday and then try to sweat them off when you're back to work??
True that during a holiday we should treat ourselves nicely which includes indulging in foods and other relaxing activities. But in terms of food department, I dont really like having to sweat some weights off when Im back from holiday, it's almost like paying my credit card bills hahaha XD
How about enjoying holiday, foods, and not gaining weight?? I do think it's possible :D

Here are some things I always do during holiday to keep my weight at check, it works for me MOST of the time hahaha:

1. I tried to eat healthier fast foods, I opt for home cooked fast foods (we have alot available in Asian countries), who eat mcdonalds on holiday anyway? when my fave foods are fattening ones, like Sweet Martabak or Fried Banana (can't avoid those sometimes ^^"), I tried to eat little each time and spread it during the day or two.

2. I try to peek at the kitchen's to see the oil they used to fry the foods (some of the resto have their kitchen at the front of their shop). since asian countries seems to have a shabby standard of what is acceptable in cooking, I tried not to eat at the resto where the cooking oil looks old or as pitch black as my car's oil XD XD

3. I try to go in bigger groups so we can order more things and share, this way I can eat a little of a lot of variety ^^ or when go alone or in pair, I go for smaller portion.

4. Avoid peanut sauce where possible, but if I must I take a small amount and substitute the rest with chilli LOLz...some people say chilli makes their appetite stronger but for me it's all the same since I eat chilli very often.

I have a wedding to attend, and just can't be bothered thinking too much about what to wear...so please help me picking out the outfit for the day.. ^^

The holy matrimony will be in the morning, and since I'm gonna be reading the opening verses, I was thinking to wear a cardigan with the dress so as not to be too revealing ^^"

This dress is pink in color though it looks almost white in the pic

The reception would be at night, so I think I will change dress...

IF in the morning I'm to wear the pink one, during the dinner I'm thinking to remove the cardigan from this dress.....it's summer here hence the butterfly hahaha :p

So...which one do you think is better to wear at morning and night of a summer wedding??

Have you experienced 'the dumb moment' where you can't stop your mouth and just say the dumbest thing without even know why on earth you are saying it?

Scene #1 happened today
Me n hubby were eating our lunch n watched the NBA game between Orlando n Atlanta

Us: *munch munch munch*
Me: So, which team is better?
Hubby: Both are good but I go for Orlando..
Me: OH, isn't one of their player called Orlando Bloom or something?
Hubby: *munch munch munch* *Speechless staring at me*
Me: ???
Hubby: Babe, Orlando Bloom is Legolas, ok??
Me: HAHAHAHAHA (plus feeling very stupid and was glad that no one else was around)
Hubby: their team is called Orlando Magic..
Me: I don't know why I said that...HAHAHAHA

See what I mean?? I always think I could categorize myself into the pretty intelligent level (although not in the Einstein's liege) but there are times when I doubt myself @.@"

Scene #2 happened quite a long time ago
Me, hubby(then bf), and his friends (so 6 of us, yes it was a bit over crowded) were in a car. It was my first time hanging out with that lot of his friends. We were listening to "the best day of my life" by DIDO on the radio.

Friend 1: I love this song!
Friend 2: Yep, it's very catchy.. who again is the singer??
Me: *Super confident* The singer is very famous, her name is DILDO
Everyone: *S I L E N C E* (everyone was staring at me)

Can you sleep well?

I was amazed by a story from a friend about her insomnia habit, where she can go on for almost two days with as little as 6 hours sleep. If I put myself in her shoes I think I'd be a walking zombie.

That convo made me recall other conversations with friends or relatives on the same topic, some people do have constant problem with insomnia. I guess being able to sleep deep, well, and sound is one of the blessings that I should be thankful for. I did have a period of time where I had trouble sleeping, and these were what I did to cure it:
*Reduce my intake of tea (since I dont drink coffee)
*Try to be as active as possible during the day
*Not doing any activity in my bed (reading, chatting, etc) except sleeping

Are you suffering from insomnia?or have you had any experience with troubled sleeping?if you have, what did you do to get back to your normal sleeping pattern?

And here's my fave snack for summer time! Fruity Honey Yogurt!! Super easy to make :DJust grab some fruits, top it with plain yogurt (you can use flavored yogurt but I prefer plain because I can taste the fruits better) plus lots of honey :D
I think I've been eating kilos of yogurt in the past few weeks lolz XD XD

I got asked this question a lot of times so I thought it will be an interesting topic and useful knowledge for everyone! Today I'll take you to the basic of gemstone tradings!

Many of us like and wear jewelries, such as earrings, rings, necklace, etc. For those jewelries that are adorned with real gemstones (such as ruby, sapphire, diamonds, emeralds, etc), the gemstones got to come from somewhere (I'm not talking abt the shop where you bought it from) :) and it's only natural if people are curious as to how we (gemologist and gems trader) obtain our gemstones. Let's take a peek!

While I was in Thailand, I frequented many gemstones' trading places. On contrary to general extreme assumption (people usually thinks I got the gemstones straight from the mines with all those dynamites to blast the rocks OR from a high tech store with 24/7 super strict surveillance), the real gemstone tradings are still very much traditional with trust plays an integral part of the transactions.The tradings are done in an area called gemstone market.

Here's Chantaburi, one of the main hub for gemstones trading in Thailand. In this old market, people sell and buy stones on the street, alongside the food sellers LOLz...for real...

Here's one of the town's oldest market corner, where buyer sits down and wait for sellers to come and introduce their stones. All transactions are in cash, no refund. Quick and sharp observations as well as experiences are crucial, since there are many crooks trying to sell synthetics and fakes. But once you got caught selling 'lemons', you're out of the game...pretty much... it's quite a tough and unforgiving market...
Here's another market's corners. Look at the crowds... they are all mixture of buyer and (mostly) sellers/brokers. This humble place and the one I mentioned above have been around for at least 100 years, and still unchanged.
Below is the relatively new market centre, with air-con... Seller can hire a table for the day and write down all his requirements that he needs, and wait for abit....
Within a few minutes (literally)...sellers from all corners with any gemstones that meet buyer's spec come and present their 'wares'. That's my friend sitting (sleeveless top), that particular day he was looking for blue sapphires and rubies.

Selection is made while those sellers watching you. For many who just begun, this is quite a tough mental test as you need to fully concentrate on the gemstones and make your decision quickly (usually in less than 5-10mins).

Can't speak Thai? Not a problem, that's why they invented calculator :) tough bargain is part of the transactions. When the price is agreed, then the cash and the gemstone exchanges hands.
Even seasonal and experienced buyers got duped once or twice in a very long while. But that's how you learn in this field, unfortunately there's no other safer way if you choose this kind of market. But also, if you master your skills, then you're ahead of your competitors since you get more bargains by cutting middle-man. So gemstones trading could be a tricky field :) But I love it...and I enjoy the games...

Well...this is only a very brief preview of what actually happens on the market. Not every gem trader physically go down to trading towns like this one due to the risks involved. There are safer alternatives but price-wise, way more expensive...but each to his/her own way in doing business ;)

My advice:
Educate yourself before you make a purchase of a particular gemstone, dont be lazy when you're about to pay hundred or thousands of dollar for your jewelry. Ask your jeweler questions before buying, about the property of the gemstones, the quality, the cut, etc (but make sure you do your homework before asking). If they can't answer even your basic inquiries, then...maybe you should question the stuff they are selling. If they answer wrongly (and again, the only way to know this is if you've done your homework), then...again be cautious..
Im not saying that every jewelry seller who can't answer your question is a cheating bastard, but they (since they don't have the necessary knowledge) COULD be cheated by the people whom they bought the gemstones from without knowing it, and guess where the gemstones will end up at?? At the buyer's hands, and it could be you :)
So.....google up...hahahaha...

The simplest way would be asking for international certification...you pay abit more but you will be sure you get what you're paying for ;)

Things that I love about Melbourne: Gardens and Foods

One of the many things that I adore about Melbourne is its many parks tucked a little way off or amidst the city centre. I like just to sit or stroll around those gardens, make a nice escape from the hustle bustle of the city activities. On last fine Saturday, me and hubby went to a friend's picnic at Treasury Garden, which located on the eastern boundary of CBD (near Spring st).

Another things about Melbourne of course is its foods!! Today we went to a nice Korean resto called Han Guuk Guan at Melbourne CBD. Only me and hubby ate, so we only ordered two of their famous dishes, since their portion is SO BIG @.@!!

The yummy and infamous sweet and spicy chicken for AUD27 (we couldn't finish it, and left the resto with a full take away box)

My fave Jajangmyon (enough for two people) AUD10. It tastes pretty good ^^

As for the MIA, I have been busy changing countries for the last 2 weeks, now I'm back to my hubby's arms *snuggle snuggle*

Shoping in Bangkok: Where there is crowd, there is "Talat" & Giveaway

Hi gorgeous ladies!! How is everyone? I hope all is well and having a nice weekend :)
My internet has been horrible (nothing new hey) so apologize if I haven't been commenting around as much T.T

Today I'm going to blog about another kind of "market" in Bangkok. One of the things that I love about Bangkok is its markets (called "Talat" in thai language) that you can find day and night. Seriously Thailand has tons of them, I see it everywhere (esp in Bangkok).

This post is about the day-time market. There is one right outside my building ^^" yes, the market doesn't have to have an appointed place, you can find it on the street side or any other unthinkable location :D hahaha...

This is the side of my building, the "Talat" stretch along the corridor, as far as the length of the building. As you can see, it's jam packed, always like this esp during lunch hour.

The sellers/vendors change everyday so you get to see different things everyday XD To me it adds to the fun :p

What do these "Talat" usually sell?? MANY MANY things!! :

Foods & Snacks (of course, thai people love to eat big time)

Cosmetics (Japanese & Korea cosmetics are hotcakes here, also some European brand such as Lancome, Guerlain). International brands are generally overpriced in Thailand. These sellers in "Talat" usually hand carry the stuff themselves from Japan/Korea or get someone to send the cosmetics over to them. Although they are generally still more expensive, it's possible to find a good bargain. The other day I picked up Shiseido "Perfect Whip" foam cleanser for only 250bath (less than 9AUD), in Adambeauty, it's sold for 11USD.

Nail Polishes...I think they are local and some chinese brands

Clothes & shoes. Although not everything is of nice quality, some shops do sell nice clothes. I bought a really cute jumpsuit and a pretty top for 550bath (less than AUD20). Looking at the making and the fabrics, I'm very happy because I dont think I can get them both at that price even if I shop in Indonesia. Shoes generally starts from 200bath a pair, and have I ever mentioned that Thailand made shoes are of excellent quality and wear??

Last time, my friend showed me an original Kipling shoulder bag that she bought at "Talat" near her office for only 1000bath (less than 35AUD). It's original, we checked everything already, still has the tag and all. what a good buy!!

Some TIPS for "Talat":
1. Look for any office buildings or streets near offices area. Not every building or offices area will have "Talat" but it's a good place to start your hunt.
2. Start early, because the "Talat" mainly serve the office workers, they start at 8am-9am and finish early (2-3pm, after lunch).
3. The seller changes everyday, so if you see something that you like, better get them :D
4. You can bargain abit, ask nicely and smile :D
5. Not everything sold is of good quality, so you need to sort around. But nice items are definitely around and abound!
6. Foods are generally safe to eat as it's pretty clean. Avoid ice cubes if you are afraid.

HCMC express :) & Giveaway!!

I went to Ho Chi Minh City -Vietnam for 3Days2nights last time. I arrived on friday night and left on Sunday morning, so practically I only have one full Saturday in HCMC. Here's a summary of what I do and I think you should do if you happen to be there only for one day.

1. Woke up early and headed out for some local pho (it's no vietnam without a pho, me say ;D). This one I had is called "pho le" and was so good! Foods are super cheap in vietnam, even cheaper than Thailand :D

2. Went to ChoLun (the chinatown) which looked like typical chinatown all around the world :p we didnt really walk around, just passed it by in the taxi.
3. Headed out to District 1 (where all the main sightseeing can be found), and hit the Notre Dame church
4. Just opposite the church, was the General Post Office, which I like very much, the building was very pretty (French architecture). Send some postcards back home if you like :) I did!

5. Walked around the surrounding malls. They were generally not very big. And not many variety (yet) on cosmetics departments but I found CLIO (Korean) brand in a mall called "diamond" and snatched some pretty lipsticks :D

6. Next, to the famous theater (but it's not open for public, so just took some pics lolz).
The nice French old style building hotel just across the theater, the building is more than 100 years but still look nice.

7. Walked, a bit, we arrived at the city council buidling. I like this building because it has a nice garden at the front of it.

6. Lunch time. Here's a must visit resto called Quan An Ngon. This resto got featured on Lonely Planet. And although not all resto featured on lonely planet lives up to its description there, this one sure does!! This resto serves bunch of different foods from all over vietnam!! You can watch them live cooking too. Tasted yummy, fab atmosphere, and the price made you smile after the good meals

7. Another walk to one of the surrounding malls. Got myself the famous HIGHLAND coffee (Vietnam is famous for its coffee too). Highland is like the starbuck in Vietnam. Look how clever they made the take away bag lolz...loving the idea so much...

8. Saigon Square is where to buy clothes, bags, and such. The place isn't big and the variety is pretty limited. I found some Foverver21 dresses though ;D

9. Cho Bin Tanh Market is the popular tourist destination. But I didn't go in because I was told the stuff sold there would be similar to what I saw in Saigon Square, with more expensive price tags and heat :p

10. This is the palace, where we spent quite some time to walk around and see many interesting objects.

I missed out the War Museum but was tired already lolz... those places above are all in District 1 and within walking distance (except ChoLun), so it's possible to see them all in one day!

Aside from that I noticed many interesting things in Vietnam:
* Motorcycles are abound here...similar to Jakarta XD
*Many street sellers selling vegetables and foods. This view below is quite common in some areas
*People here are still wearing the straw hats :D I love seeing them walking around with the hats! for some reason XD

*This is the highway. Motorcycles are allowed on highway @.@" I was quite surprised...

*But nothing surprised me more than seeing this cool bicycle on the highway HAHAHAHA..

That's the brief summary of my visit to HCMC. It was a short but pleasant visit. And I found myself liking Vietnam. I would love to go back there again in the future!

The big C we all hate

It starts with C and ends with N, namely the hideous, hateful, mood-dragging Constipation... (note: there's nothing graphics involved, but if you are sensitive about this issue, you are welcome to skip this post^^)

I had that problem before....
BUT
A while ago I found the cure...yes, T.H.E C.U.R.E .... and no I'm not talking about taking medication XD of course that is one of the solutions but it's painful... I'm talking about the more natural way... and I'd like to share it...just in case it's helpful...

Here's my hero!
Taadaaa.... the most effective C-cure...aka Prune Juice :D hubby introduced this to me and I loooovvve it. During the annoying time of C-attack, I take a glassfull (or two) and then sit meekly like nothing happen. The next two hours will see me running to the toilet to get the business done for once and all (well not always once....sometimes more ^^")

I'm curious...what is your cure for the big C??DO share if you have one :)

Now I drink prune juice almost everyday, and in addition I consume 2-3 serves of fruits everyday. So far this has worked very well, and I notice improvement on my skin (esp during my period, when my skin usually give me attitude).

Why does it important to do your toilet 'business' everyday??

When you neglect it for one day, you actually have started building up toxin in your body because the waste of the digestion that are supposedly be dumped out are forced to be absorbed back to your body (this is the easy wordings). This will cause many reactions to the body of course, but let's take the obvious one, the adverse reaction to our precious skin ^^
Many of my mum's clients (mum is beautician) facial problems can be related back to the irregular habit of going for the dump (one of the causes)
Possibility of spreading the toxin to your surrounding by the so called fart-accident HAHAHA :p

As often as we choose to avoid this subject, my husband told me that constipation is one of the most common problems experienced by both male and female, regardless of age...yes you can be young and pretty (or handsome) with this annoying problem, or old and frail with the same rant...HA...interesting!! We really should elaborate more about this topic XD

Oh yeah... I passed my exams!! WOHOO... I haven't gotten the results yet but it's positive that I safely passed, thanks God...this subject was really hard it got me worried abit :p

So...I'm leaving for Vietnam tomorrow (Ho Chin Minh City) v^______^v because I need to clear my visa (after 90 days in thailand, wow....time sure flies). Will only be there for 2 nights since my new class will be starting on Monday. I will be back with loads of pics!! :)

Shoping in Bangkok: Accessories Land at SumPeng market

Thank you ladies for the good wishes in regards to my exams. Now I'm waiting for the results so keep praying for me ;)

A while ago, Blair suggested me to post about shopping places in Bangkok and I thought "why not". Except that instead of doing the major shopping malls I opt to do quirky spots, getting down and dirty to find interesting places (literally because it's raining season here, not to mention the humidity which means constant sweating) XD

There are several of such place in Bangkok! And this time I went to SumPeng wholesale accessories market at Chinatown area.

This place is probably one of the main places to shop for those accessories' sellers that I saw around Bangkok. Sum Peng consists of two loooonggg alleys that are separated by the main road. Pls enjoy the pics :)

Before the start of the long walk we powered up with this bowl of fish balls noodle soups. This kind of soup can be found in every nook and corner of Bangkok :) I had fishballs in tomyum soup since I always go for spicy foods!

Now, on to the main business (ie. shopping lolz). This is the street that separated the two Sum Peng alleys. As you can see, there is no rule in crossing the road, you just have to watch for yourself XD

The start of the alleys, very crowded with regular bumpings to other people expected.
Deeper into the alley the situation was not improving, but I did not mind because my eyes were amazed by the 'views'. My eyes feasted on the endless stores and sellers! The prices are unbelievably cheap too. Like you can get alot of stuff for AUD0.20-1.00 each @.@" It sends message loud and clear "Helloooow wallet, please open up and pour out your content!!!"
Of course we can not buy just one, there is a minimum (different for each store) quantity to get the wholesale price... but I didn't mind the least, please force me to buy more!! ^^"

Rows of earrings, necklaces, bangles, and whatnots. Most of the times they just spread it over a table @.@

No no, these are not gold XD otherwise I would have run with some of those (with the seller in hot pursuit) LOLz

I thought this was drinks stall, turned out this vendor sells ornamental jelly (look at the mini cups below)...I dont think this is a good idea for home with kids around XD but these things are very interesting (and somehow made me thirsty)...

Many stuff are also handmade :) you just have to watch when you choose because sometimes the quality might not be consistent. They got many bows and cute hairclips

Halfway through the alley we found this gift shop called Happy Gift, and we were really happy inside :D so many cuteness arranged in neatness is the deadly recipe for shopping madness ^^"

Ying (my lovely Thai friend and my super guide) translated these cute pillows writings to me. Basically it's a like prescription from pharmacy, only this one is for love sickness, how cute ^^

One of the highlight finding of the day :D can you guess what are these stuff? Chocolate paper clips!! How very so cool!! XD I love chocolates!! and to have a constant sight of them while working is a plus! I snatched some of course :)

I haven't taken pics of stuff that I bought lolz....but that is for another post perhaps... the next post would be about another market, my fave market ^^"

Update: Authentic Thai & Giveaways

So, I've been in a quiet and nice hermitage away from the internet world for about two weeks. Anyone miss me?? 0.0" hehehe...
I had my prefinal exam today and will have another one next monday, so need to do some studying tonight :) but I just want to share some updates and tidbits.

Last week my thai friends took me to a local Thai pub, I have no idea whatsoever, plus my friend asked me "Are you a high-class type of girl?I'm afraid the place is not good enough for you", I was like "Huh?I dont think so, I clean my own toilet so I don't think I'm high class" LOLz

Turned out, I LOVE the place!! Sure it's not a place to impress your date, but it's a perfect place to hang out with friends! It's located in BangPo area (please dont ask me for direction, I'm as good as clueless) and the name of the place is "Sa-Rarn-Rom" (no idea what it means as my thai is sorely limited, but it sounds cute isn't it, makes your tongue vibrate nicely hahaha). The pics don't do the justice since I snapped from my mobile phone and the place's lighting was poor, but I think the place was really special (it has that local feeling) and I'm the only non-thai there lolz...so I can say it's very authentic Thai. We had a really great time chatting the night away and drank thai's cocktail and beers (for the guys).
Here are some pics of the night, again, pardon the quality and please strain your eyes to look at them haha...

They have wooden desks covered with decorative clothes, inside and outdoor seats, live band playing local songs, and lady boys as waitresses lolz...for real! but not all, just one or two :P that girl is not a ladyboy, she's "real" LOLz, I didn't take any pic of the ladyboys.
Here is the thai cocktail, my friend told me this drink is strong in subtle way...if that makes sense 0.o" it will make you drunk without you realizing it...^^" since my alcohol tolerance is nowhere near superb, I only took 3-4 little cups of this and managed to stay sober the whole night.

The beer!! this gigantic jug fits 3litres!!! I wish my hubby was there, he'd be so happy!! XD

We stayed until past midnight then went home because some of us have to work the following day. It was a new experience for me and a nice one indeed :)))

Other than that, I run out of my body lotion, and as my dearest Blair's review of Garnier's body lotion tickled my curiousity, I went to Boots and purchased it. I love the citrus scent, the lotion is not too heavy, just right for the humid tropical weather. As for the effectiveness of the whitening formula, we might have to wait until another week or month perhaps :D

While snatching the Garnier, my attention was caught by the nearby shelves that stocked Soap & Glory products. I bought their "Blueberry Thrill" body butter because the smell is just so yummy :D it's too heavy to be used in hot countries, so I'm saving it for Australia ^^ (and I'm thinking to buy the peach one too since I believe this brand is not available in Australia).

Overwhelmed @.@ & Fun nights this week!

Yes.. it's the internet again! >.<~~~ Once, I had to wait in vain for 10mins just for a page to load, and still it ended up in nothingness so I shut it off...and run for the sake of the poor laptop (before I hurl it to the floor lolz)

Anyway, sorry havent been commenting around as much, the bad internet is one of the reason since some of blogs' comment page cant be accessed through my mobile phone. Plus this week I had a visit from a dear friend of mine from Korea, Jae. He and his friend were here for a short visit so I spent two nights out with them. He used to work in Thailand too,so through him I made more Thai's friends :)

At one of our nights out, we had some wonderful Korean foods (good for a change as Im pretty full of thai foods by now) There were 5 of us (Jae, Soon --Jae's Korean friend, myself, Ying & Ko --the thai friends)

It was funny because only me, Jae and Ying speak English fluently. So we had three languages going on on the table, Korean, English, and Thai!! LOLZ but it was sooo much fun and somehow we managed to understand each other and ate and talked for more than 3 hours lolz....language is an amazing thing, but human understanding is even more astonishing hahaha... Anyway, when I arrived at the resto I was so hungry and I ate without taking any pics, towards the end I was tamer and took the last dish picture. Dokbukki!! my fave dish!!
Jae gave me this MISSHA lip palette lolz... I was really surprised because I didnt expect him to bring me anything, plus...guys and cosmetics...how can they ever be together?lolz... so thanks alot Jae!!
Ok that's much is the major highlight of this week! Jae's visit really makes me happy because frankly I dont know when will be the next time we are going to see each other again :(

and before I go, here's something that I bought lately, I need a facial cleanser so I went to drugstore and pick this up. Never tried this brand but heard they are quite good, im more interested with the gifts. the mini mirror and comb are too cute to resist!! and it's pink too!! XD

My French classmate was so happy when he saw it and started to order with impressive skills, pointing this and that (he lived in Malaysia for 5 years before, and hence very asian, he inhales tomyum). He insisted I should try, so I did ...and boy they are yummy!! tomorrow I will hunt for the seller again! Mine were stuffed with yam (i love yam!) and chives, and the siomay was quite delish!

Imagine that we, blogerians have a big gathering in this wonderful imaginary D-la-la-land (D for Diamond XD) and each of us has a certain amount of money and we're off shopping for a new Diamond ring (Hmm..sounds like MY 'kind' of imagination!lolz).

now a short preview about diamonds' properties are below, for those who want to know (for those who already knew/familiar, please skip thru the questions)...

Diamond Color: Starting from D (the highest grade, the most expensive) E-F, G-H-I-J (nearly colorless/white) down to Z (light yellow)

Clarity (means the inclusion/impurity present within a diamond):
starting from F(Flawless) - No inclusion visible internally n externally
IF(Internally Flawless) - No inclusion visible internally
VVS (Very very slightly included) - Very tiny inclusion, to be seen with microscope
VS (Very slightly) - Abit more inclusion, but still difficult to see even when using 10x magnification loupe
SI (Slightly Included) - Inclusion not visible to naked eyes, unless using 10x magnification loupe
I (Included) - Inclusion ranged from not too clear to clearly visible to naked eyes

Diamond Size (in carat, 1ct = 0.2gram): To make things simple, let's say in the D-la-la-land there are only 0.5ct, 0.7ct, and 1ct. size available

OF course given a choice, we would all opt for D color, F clarity, and 1ct size (lolz) but, without meaning to burst the bubbles, this is not the case for today's imaginary shopping ^^"

The questions are, given all other factors are equal:
1. If, you only have enough money to choose a better grade of two properties and sacrifice the last one... which combination of properties would you choose...?
eg.
Good Color and Good clarity but lower carat size
OR
Good clarity and bigger size but lower color grade
OR
some other combination...
and if you dont mind, please tell me why so?

2. On a different but slightly happier case (because the other one is happy enough already), say you have enough money to buy 1 ct stone (WOOHOO), then all you have to do is to choose between better color/lower clarity or better clarity/lower color. which would you go for?you may elaborate on your answer :D

3. Lastly, do you prefer yellow gold or white gold setting for your solitaire ring (keeping in mind that yellow gold actually cost more, and retain better value than the white sister)

Hi gorgeous ladies!!
I've been MIA lately. So here's some updates and pictures :)

I've been extremely busy with classes, not only catching up on study (hubby went back to Aussie last week T.T),also liaising with some clients, and creating a new blog for my jewelry collections. Thanks God for internet and technology. I think now my face looks abit "rocky" and hopefully more "glowing" from looking at so many beautiful precious stones and rough minerals forms hahaha.. Some sneaky peaky pics from the class...

A couple of days ago I received my wedding & pre-wedding video from my videographer, so happy that they are finally finalized. Hi all gorgeous ladies out there!!
Thanks to God I have landed safely in Bangkok and met my husband here (although we had a difficulty to find each other in the airport lolz).
I'm working on the internet connection here, and as soon as I get it up and running in my own room I will do an update :)
Meanwhile I'm quite happy today to get the internet working on my mobile evethough when it comes to blogging,it's very limited.
Bangkok has been raining since I arrived two days ago.The class is challenging but I'm the only one wearing skirt there lolz but all is good.

Here's someone whom I went straight to when I reached home last night

Everyone...say hello to Beverly!! my 7th months old niece :D she's my sister's little angel who can be quite a monster too sometimes hahaha but I luv her so much!

and now Im heading straight to have a full body treatment (about time I must say!! Im itching for a good facial, hair cut, and spa). And best of all, it's free hahaha...because Im heading for my mum's beauty centre ^__^

I will post again this week. not sure when because there are already tons of things to do and list of people to see. I'm so happy to see my parents and siblings...I almost wish I could live here again for good (if not for my dear husband who's waiting in Melbourne)

My Sunday on a Design Market

I went to design market on sunday with my husband. It was my first time going to one, and I love it, I saw so many unique and inspiring pieces. Everything is handmade!! :D too bad I cant take too many pics as there were many people and I didnt want the stall holder thinking I was stealing their designs or something like that coz I did snap a pic and the stall owner was suddenly so keen on watching my every move -_-"
I was only armed with my mobile phone so pardon the quality.

The design market is held twice a year, at the federation square (the first floor) underground carpark. I knew this from a friend. My friend told me it always get around by words of mouth.
And also, they have weekly book market at the upper level! :) I visited the book market and snatched myself two books from jane austeen. I have to stock up for my bangkok stay! lolz

After that we went to have some churros at san churros, QV. no pics of the churos sorry, but here is what we have for drinks. hot & cold chocolate, basically it's a hot chocolate topped with ice cream :P the ice cream soon vanished of course (due to the heat and my mouth hahaha). It was quite yummy plus... it's cold outside

then after that yummy sweets we went to church for sunday service :) the topic was about alcohol addiction and how to overcome the addiction. It was very interesting eventhough I dont have problem in that area, but it's good to remember that sometimes we do need help to quit something, and nothing to be ashamed about it. Me and my sister do check on each other on our spending habit hahaha. you know, a girl could become quite addicted to shopping and it sometime is quite harmful (to our wallet especially and sometimes it gives a reason for an argument with my hubby), beside... it's not always right to buy on impulse. so yeah, that's what I need to control of myself *grin* it's getting much better now ^_^

On the other hand, I will be leaving Melbourne in a couple of days, so I think this would be my last post until I reach Jakarta. I think I would be able to post in Jakarta, got a contest or two that I need to blog on, but not so sure what's gonna happen once I get to Bangkok. Last time I was there, I had to frequent an Internet cafe because I couldnt get a connection in my apartment building. So girls, if Im becoming abit slow in visiting around your blogs please excuse me, but I will do my best!!

My Comfort Drink & Quick review

Most of us has her/his own comfort food, a typical food that would fix your bad hair day, makes you feel alot better after a plane flight, or simply could calm your mood when you feel like screaming your head off. well, today it's not abt my comfort food, but it's about my comfort drink hehehe..but the definition is slightly different, because I only reach this comfort drink when I feel Im in the verge of getting sick or need a boost in my immune system^^ I always feel better after I drink it!!

my Comfort Drink is so simple, Ginger boiled water!! :D I know few people are fond of ginger because of its strong taste and smell (sometimes). But it's really helpful and proven in combatting sore throat, flu, cold, stiff joint, and general body sickness. and so easy to made too, this is my dad's fave drink and Ive came to love it too! :D

here's how to make it :D you will need:

Ginger of course :D find one at least as big as your own hand (except if you have super tiny hand, then double it), if it's bigger than your hand then it's better.Peel off, sliced into big chunks, and smash it until it roughly look like the pic above

Cloves bud!! You can get this at chinese grocery or from your neighbour, since you only need a tiny bit

4 glass of water, and put everything else in. Cover it! Medium cook, wait until the water boils, open the lid, and leave it until the water boils again. takes about 15mins. There would be only abt half of water left by this time.

When you pour in a glass, you can see the water has a slight colour. Put brown sugar/palm sugar/honey if you cant take the strong taste. My fave is honey, because honey is good for health and skin!! :D

Since ginger is a natural products, Ive never heard of any allergic reaction to it, but I might be wrong :D if you feel your throat burns in exotic hotness when you first attempt to drink it, rest assured it's normal, just add more honey hehehe...

And just a quick review of this L'occatine product that I recently bought, while other products by this brand are wonderful I must say this one fails to impress me. the milk cleanser that claims to gently remove all make up (incl. eye areas) didnt do what it promises. After first wash, I could still see, particularly in eyes area, the traces of my concealer. so I did a second wash, only to find it's still there -_-"""
I need to wash again with my shiseido perfect whip to get rid of the oil residue and whatever left....
I dont think I'll buy again :(((( I had high hopes on this product so Im pretty dissapointed.
It's probably good for sensitive skin because it's very gentle (to the point that it has difficulty removing make ups lolz). I think I will use this when Im in Bangkok, coz I will wear less makeup there due to the weather

Im still goin green! hehehe..finally convinced my hubby to give up liquid soap and go for the old-school bar soap hehehe...they're olive soap, Im sure they're yummy on the skin

Bikram Yoga!!

Good news girlies!!
My laptop is back sound and cleared off the annoying spyware *yippiee* But I lost most of the programs so I need to do some major installing later..

Anyway, during the eventful spyware attack since last week, I've been doing something new: B I K R A M yoga ^__^ actually this is not my first time doing yoga, but in term of doin yoga in a room with a minimum temperature of 39C (abt 102F), this is my very first experience :D . On my first class, I kept picturing a suckling pig gasping for breath (that's myself) in an oven. IT IS so HOT!! it's like summer on its peak, plus massive muscles works! I sweat super easily, and at the end of every class, I look like just stepping out of shower, only it's not water XP

I can not do many of the poses perfectly haha, so inflexible :P but it's alot of fun, although I must admit the class is pretty tough. I always get an impulsive drive to get up and run from the room during my first few classes XD but thanks to God, human body is the most resilient thing and our muscles are unbelievably springy, after each class I can feel I'm a tiny bit more flexible than before lolz...
Im goin to Bangkok soon and was so happy because they have bikram yoga studio near where Im going to stay, and the PRICE there *eyes sparkling* ...one month membership fee here can pay for 4 months of bangkok's class!!
have any of you tried bikram yoga before??

and....what I have been doing for the past one month since I arrived from Japan is...sorting out my whole stuff. I used to study and work in Melbourne for a total of 6 years, and during that period I accumulated (Like any normal girl would hehe..) tons and tons of things. When I went back to Indonesia for 3 years I put them all in 15 enormous boxes (and gave many away) and borrowed my brother's garage to deposit them all. Now Im back in Melbourne and it's time to unpack those boxes because my brother needs the spaces back lolz...
I have opened 5boxes and last sunday me and couple of friends opened a stall in a flea market, mostly selling our used clothes. Some of the stuff that are still good have gone to ebay since a month ago and until now (ID:hanyanghan).

well, during my labour on one of the boxes, I found three bags of accessories and stuff that are still brand new!! I feel very bad abt this, how come I have so many new things and forget about them??? -_-"" I have weakness for accessories, you name it: bags, belts, beanies, earrings, bracelets, beads.... I have so many of them already that I haven't bought any new ones for the past one year (that's a stunning record!!for me anyway ^^")... and now I found bags of new ones?? Ooopsie...

10 boxes to go..... T E N .... and Im tired already T-T...Im thinking of setting up another blog seling those new & un-used accessories of mine...but I'll better deal witht the other boxes first.....who knows there are still some new bags of un-used goodies 0.O" hahaha oh dear...

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to ALL mothers out there!! :)) in Indonesia we have different date for monther's day, its on dec 22th but yeah...I think mums deserve a mother day every single day of their life :D

and....Im getting older by a year last week...

count your blessings not your worries (and wrinkles) LOlz..hubby brought this in in the morning when I was still asleep...and Im not four years old, he just was in a such hurry that he only had time to stick four candles up ahahah...

After sometime using LUSH products, here's a list of products that I will re-purchase in the future. Surprisingly, while alot of people are in love with lush soap & bath products, that is not the case for me. Maybe because Im not a bath person (but I do still take shower everyday so please dont run away), that they failed to WOW me, or maybe I havent tried enough products to give any comments.... either way I dont think I will buy any of them anymore. On the other hand, I love their creamy yummy products..

*Celestial facial moisturizer (pls see the pic from previous posts, since all LUSH packaging is all the same, as long as you know the name you're safe): I have a normal skin that tends to get dry in the winter and oily in the summer (now thats convenient)..however even during winter Celestial is still too heavy for my skin if applied too sparingly. so a little dab is all I need to use on face and neck....as for my skin, it works a treat :) I wont be able to finish the whole pot before the exp date so Im dragging my hubby to use it too hahaha..

*Charity pot body lotion: Nice body cream!! skin feels smooth after application and it actually sips into the skin (some lotion dont and when I wash my body the next day my skin is slimmy,which I assume means the lotion just stay on the surface or not thoroughly absorbed)

*Enchanted eyecream: it's not gonna get rid of dark circle (I appreciate the SA honesty) and too be honest I dont look for an eyecream with that function at the first place because I believe dark circle gets better with enough beauty sleep and detox (ie sports, not too much free-radical stuff), and on some other cases it stays there no matter what good you have done to your body. anyway this cream solves the dryness around my eye's area and seein the ingredients, which mostly are natural, makes me feel safe knowing I feed my skin with more of natures...

*Ocean Salt Scrub: could be too rough for sensitive skins but otherwise I love it. smells nice, works well, can be used for other body parts as well, just remember to rub it gently when used on face..

I went out with the girls on last friday night before a sleep-over, and I did this look

and just a quick question, has anyone ever use this FASIO shock-free mascara in the picture??is it suppose to be SUPER HARD to remove? like SUPER DUPER hard?? on the contrary to its name, it is a shock-full mascara for me...

Ive used waterproof mascara many times before and never had problem removing them with a proper eye make-up remover. but this FASIO...omigosh...I thought I will take all my eyelashes off if I want to wipe them all clean...and since I still want my eyelashes I gave up after many hurtful attempts that I should not do to my eyes T-T...and now Im afraid of using them again...

Melbourne has been so cold for the past few days and the news said that last week was the coldest april week in 56 years lolz...and where I stayed last week (my brother's house) was the coldest suburb in victoria hahaha...me n hubby had to use two layers of quilt to get warm -__-" it's not even winter yet..I see this as one of the global warming phenomenons...
It's a sad fact but the earth are decaying because humans are not very responsible in taking care of it.well, I've been trying to go green for quite a long time but sometimes my surroundings arent that supportive hehe XD.... I remember once my colleague teased me to sign up for a greenpeace membership because I commented on how he used a post-in-note to write something that is not so useful and gave him a quick 2 minutes lecture of how those post-it-note were made lolz :P

anyway, when we get our own house I will (and nothin hubby says will stop me) get that decomposer thing (you know, the bin thing to decompose your green garbage) even if we dont have a garden, maybe I can sell the composed products to my neighbours and make some money lolz...

aside from that... I've been trying to recall the method of doing a whole strand of pearl necklace. this isnt as simple as it looks because to make a good and strong whole necklace, I cant just put one pearl after another, I have to make a joint from the nylon thread to seperate each pearl but the joint have to be very tight and touching the pearl; to avoid loose pearl in the thread.and this particular part is so difficult to get right T-T I probably lost you by now hahaha...
I do and re-do it for about three times before getting it all good -__-""" I need to do this often or else I'll forget..

this one is south sea pearls so they are quite big.
Pearls are beautiful and while in some people opinion it might be destined for old lady and look too formal, I think the smaller sized ones are definetely good to wear for many occasions. Did I also mention that pearl is a green jewelry because they have low impact on environment? Cant wait until I get to see the farms end of this year!! yohoo, I think I'll go pearl-crazy XD....

And my other go green action hahaha...LUSH products.... the ocean salt (Lovin it!eventhough the salt can be abit rough for sensitive skin) and the eye cream. I quite like the eyecream, although the smell are not that nice. unlike the facial moisturizer, that's IMO only good for winter country, this one can safely be used for tropical country without getting too heavy for the skin. So it will come with me on my next trip to the hotter lands! I got the "honey I washed the kid" (HAHA...cute name) soap but I didnt take pic of it (It's sitting nicely in my shower at the moment)...

wellz, today's post is very 'green' hahaha.. I hope nobody minds. It's been a few good weeks...I hope it keeps on raining (Australia needs it!)

Thanks everyone for the well wishes ^__^ me and hubby are back in Melb. Our Japan's trip was wonderful... Japan is so awesome, me & hubby want to go back again someday :D

and My current obsession is Lush products. I used to not being able to stand the store's smell :P its very strong and strange and I got sensitive nose.but it came to my attention that they try to use less packaging and be more earth-friendly. and when I took a good look at their products (online, I never lasted long in the actual store lolz) I decided to give some a try. So currently Im using Celestial facial moisturizer, Charity Pot Body cream and Godiva solid shampoo & conditioner.
Actually when smelled individually they are much better haha..and I quite like their products,and even my hubby like it too. but for the creams, I think I can only use it when Im in Australia. I wont bring it for travel to tropical country because it would be too heavy for my skin. I will, however, bring the solid shampoo around with me. I love Godiva's smell ^^ very refreshing...

I also got the ocean salt scrub and Hybrid solid shampoo but I will take their pic later ^^

so thats all for now...I have some troubles navigating around the blogs features...I know it suposed to be easy since everyone's blog looks so chic and pretty but Im having difficult times even just to move the pics around, so Im forced to edit the html and sometimes its time consuming -_-" any practical advices??

I think I will still be very busy until the wedding is offer T-T and that means...I cant update very often (I dont even go online that often anymore)..

anyway, firstly happy belated chinese new year :P

and secondly, thanks for the comment on my sample collection. turned out you all have very good eyes, lolz the blue chopard rings sold first out of the lot hehehe...

and thirdly, beside busy preparing for my wedding, Im also frantically trying to find time to plan for my honeymoon too. the place would be Japan. and me n Hans (my soon to be hub) have decided on the cities: Tokyo (5days), Osaka (3days), Kyoto (2days), then maybe back to tokyo again coz I heard tokyo is huge and so many things to do there.

well, anyone who had visited japan before or have friends from japan who can be of help, pls throw in your suggestion re:
* make up shopping ( this has to be done efficiently since Hans wouldnt want to wait for too long)
*local delicacies/foods/snacks
*a must visit place ( I love small alleys with alot of unique stores, japanese garden, temples, sight seeing)
*onsen!!

I think I must consult miss yumeko too !! (and GINAA...pls come to my rescue!! tell me all you know abt japan!)

My bro is back from melb and lookie lookie! what he brought for me!! an uber cute piggy bank dressed in harry potter style. I believe if it were to be human witch, she would be hermione lolz.. it's a freebie from an australian bank (ANZ), it's so nice of my bro to still remember one of my childhood obsession (yes ppl, I adore pigs lolz)

and a while ago when I cleaned up my old suitcase I found this piggy doll, it was given by my sister...look how adorable the piggy is...

ok, this is a really random post, Im unable to go anywhere today because we are having a flood...yes here in Jakarta, and no I dont live in an outer rim villages of Jakarta, Im in the north of jakarta...but still we get the flood -_-" the road in front of my house was flooded but just now I checked ( I wanna take pic) the flood was half gone and I can see the road again! YAY!

I've been checkin around blogs, even if I dont post, and Ive seen numbers of ppl getting mad swaps from each other LOLz... I just totally love gift giving ^^" and this swap is getting me drolling so bad hahaha...you know, when you see so many cute stuff swimmin about your computer's screen it's hard not to be excited XD (even when the stuff isnt yours 0.o" haha)

nyway, Im still battling with my guest list. cant believe the hard work entails to it.

but no matter how busy the wedding prep is, daily chores & works still need to be done. I design and trade jewelry (small scale) while operating my salon business.been planning a website to show all of my collection properly, hopefully I can realize the plan mid of this year.

Now ladies, I need your comments. Here's some of my new collections...pls tell me what you think of them :) (all set in 18k white gold with real stones n diamonds). Dont worry, no need to be soft with me, you can bash the designs or the style (as long as you dont bash me lolz), I'd appreciate honest opinions...I plan to make my next catalogue and I just want to know majority's fave so I know which one to go on the first page and which is the least liked...etc...

Sorry for the lack of updates...Im really caught up in this wedding preparation, im telling you...if I had a choice I would opt for a small party of just close relatives and friends..however...wedding in asia is not as simple as that -_-" it's like our parents are also getting married all over again...so many stuff need to be considered so both families' wants are properlly and equally catered...

anyway...thats just a blurb of what I do everyday now lolz..

well...it's almost the last day of the year 2008!! Im not particularly fond of new year really...but my friends invite me to spend the new year at their places tomorrow... im still undecided -_-"

anyway, miuuu, here are two of my designs, these are not the most recent ones...I forgot where I saved them last time *baka me!* I hope you like them ;)

I used acrylic powder to create these 3d design, I used stripping pen to add some variety on the first one and glitter polish for the background on the 2nd one.

15. I sleep like a pig. I can sleep very long hours...like 12 hours...
16. when I dress. Im not a brand minded girl. I rather have many unique pieces that I can mix & match according to my mood. but when I dont feel like it, Im trusting my dear tee n jeans.

Okies, so here's my entry for miss yumeko's fun contest ^^
I must say I have enjoyed it very much, despite the fact that the only time available for me to do it is during the night. so after many hours outside amongst humidity and pollution, I think my face looked tired in the pictures, but whatever..hehehe..

so here's the five pieces I used for the looks
My fave lavshuca pallete, SANA liquid eyeliner, Esprique precious pallete, kiss blush on, and integrate lippy. I dont really like wearing mascara (eventho for most ppl it's their HG items hehe..) so I leave it out..

I also dont really like my camera (time for a change? AHA!) it doesnt capture the image the way I want it to be...

I might not be the HUGEST fan of make up, but I do love getting my self beautified (which girl doesnt?) and Im thankful for the many amazing invention in cosmetics industry that can enhance my face's features and cover flaws ^^

For basic I normally use my uv lotion and then my shiseido compact. thats it. simple and pronto! I usually add more steps (foundation, concealer, etc) when special occasions call, like big party or wedding night.

for this competition, because the only time I do this is after work (depending on my schedules that day I dont always wear full make up), I cant be bothered to clean my face and start over again with foundation base, so I just do some light touch up for the base and proceeded away.sorry for the lazyness...

First look is 'the party night out'
The colors came up better with flash (first pic) but I dislike my face looking so oily there lolz..
I used the pinker tone of my blush as an eyeshadow, then mixed it with esprique's brown goldie, put the dark purple of my luvshuca as the liner for the below. use SANA eyeliner for the upper part, splash some blush on, kiss the integrate lipstick lightly and Im finish.

Second look is 'the fresh for bite' (dont mind the name, I like creating wierd lines hahaha)

Sorry for the scary eyes pic, I was quite hopeless in trying to capture the color so I tried to tilt my head abit and took the picture from the front. it works ^^"
for this, I used the glitter cream based from esprique pallete, again my pinker blush on, and SANA liner for the lower part of the eyes only

3rd look 'the bold getting beautiful'' look:

I used Esprique cream base & creamy white eyeshadow, and Luvshuca cream & dark purple tone. mix them mix them mix them, add some SANA, blush the cheek, paint the lips and there you go!!

4th look 'the sweet goes for treat' look:

Esprique cream base, Luvshuca purple combined with esprique brown gold, SANA liner, blush on with more darker pink combination and lipstick with many swipes!

the last look is 'the fast but not furious' look. lolz, I often do this look whenever I need to rush and only have 5 mins in hand.

Luvshuca cream glitter base & light brown, SANA eyeliner, blush on + lipstick, n Im good to go!

awkay, I think I better off now...I feel rather unproductive lately, and superrrr lazy.... today I got my period -_-" not a wonder...

Ok, I havent written for so long. Got some real headaches at work T-T anyway, lets not talk abt it...
well, re the title of the blog: what has been decided??
It's been decided that I will follow the online contest held by miss yumeko
ok now dont get shocked...it's only a make up contest lolz (kind of, I dunno what else to call it), basically it requires the participant to do 5 different looks with only 5 different make up items...

honestly Im drolling over the prizes though if I can choose, I will ask to swap the fake nails with something else coz I've got plenty of them *am already dreaming to be the winner* hahaha...hey,that's what you call positive thinking ok!

I know all of my old friends will have their jaws dropped if they find out abt this :P yeah, hana wears make up now people!! ^_________^

Well, not that that many people read my blog. but I just feel like updating...
Life's been very busy. but all is good :)
Will write more soon!! Maybe when Im in Melbourne..that's when I will finally have some time to sit nicely and quietly, and then think of something to talk abt ...

I made some visits to my fellow xangans friends. sadly most of them have quited blogging some years ago too. I've managed to get a handful that still faithfully blog and have marked their pages. I just hope whoever from my xanga list (however it's unlikely) who stumbles upon my page will mark mine.

It's such a pity that I lost that many friends -_-" we all once so eager to blog, lolz..but I guess blogging is not something everyone will be doing forever, at least not for everyone in the world. I know some awesome individuals who have blogged for years. As for me, I enjoy writing and for me blog is just like a virtual diary. yes yes, I still have my 'actual' diary that I now write every now and then :P I just feel better after pouring my heart into writings as Im not a very good talker. and some things are better kept inside my diary rather than online so stop calling me 'old skool' hehehe...

I have just finished my 2nd catalog, what a relieve. and just for the mood the day, it's all summer and colorful (eventho it's practically summer all year round here)
here's the statement of the mood:
cute eh?I absolutely love it hahaha..I never wear bikini so I'll wear it on my nail HA! what a brilliant idea! and ppl still wonder what I do with my brain? HAHAHA...and just before this one I got into the mood of strikingly sophisticated (I just name my mood with whatever names I feel like), so I get my staff to paint this one on my nails:

Anyways, after a very long break I've gotten back into the mood of having my nails decorated with nail art ^^ after all my customers always ask me why my nails are plain (pls, cant I have a break? hahaha), now it's the time to WOW them again. Sales technique too...lolz..

I used to actively blog with Xanga. and then I had to stop because I went to China, it was pretty difficult to update and the connection wasnt that great so after 8 months there my blog was deserted. It's pretty sad because Ive made many friends through my old blogs. I've forgotten how did I come to know all of them lolz...

Now, after many years I decided to blog again. it' pretty wierd because I know for a while, the only person who would be active in my blog is myself. but hey...I have to start somewhere huh? anyway... I dont really want to write much today because I got a sudden headache attack (must be the bread that I snacked this afternoon!). So, to defy the myth that monday is a bad day and most people have bad mood on monday, I will peacefully take a quick nap. what day is a bad day when you can have a nap??? such luxury that even some rich ppl cant afford doing...
